Flying
I might have bad luck with flying. So far, I’ve had 4 flights canceled on me and 3 missed connections over the past year. 2 of those missed connections got me stuck in Chicago’s O’Hare, but luckily I have a friend who lives in Chicago so I didn’t have to sleep at the airport.
Just this weekend, I had 2 flights canceled for 2 different reasons and my rebooking almost didn’t go through because the person on the phone didn’t complete my ticketing. Didn’t find that out until the next day though. Almost had front row seats to a fist fight in line too at LaGuardia because someone cut and didn’t think they did. Also have been delayed an infinite number of times. Other than all that stuff though, flying has been great =P

Hey! No cutsies!
I don't know how it is in the states, but how many options do you have for airlines? Have these problems all been the same one?
There are a ton of options for airlines to fly with and every single one has let me down somehow. First it was Spirit with their cancellations. Then it was Northwest with their constant delays. Then American and Continental. And Midwest.
I guess Delta and Airtran haven't screwed me yet, but there is still time.
That sucks! Delays are long and boreing.
has anyone seen that episode of dilbert, the dogbert day one and the guy cuts in front of him….
well im kinda imagining justin like that, with a fucking massive chase arcoss the airport!!!!
Che: That would be hilarious, I love the Dilbert cartoon!
I've only flown twice (to Ontario and back), for the flight there I arrived extra early but the plane needed a new windshield or something so the flight was delayed. Kinda figures, one time I'm early and it doesn't count:(
Have you tried flying Southwest Airlines yet? That is the only airlines that I like to fly on because they are really good at keeping their schedules on time.
No, can't say i have. But i like westjet, aside from delays it was a very nice flight.
Were you talking to me? You weren't talking to me.
Haven't flown Southwest yet I don't think, but I'll keep that in mind next time I'm booking tickets =)
Was asking Justin that. XD
hahaha Americans….
lol i have no idea about what you airways are called, but if you every come to Australia dont fly jetstar holy fuck their never on time and if they are the flight crashes!
hehehe, I like your summary of the airline =)
Wow, we have lots of international posters. That rocks.
I've flown Northwest almost exclusively because, as Justin knows, Detroit Metro Airport is a Northwest hub or something. And Detroit is home or something. I flew Southwest once to go to an interview and I remember thinking that they were "goofy" in a multitude of ways upon which I will not elaborate.
I can't say that I've ever had a bad experience with flight delays and that sort of thing (although once, I did order a sandwich at a bar which arrived after my flight left).
I'm curious to know if people feel any sort of increased security at the airports since 2002. Personally, I always walk right through security five minutes no problem, and I fly out of O'Hare all of the time.
Oh yeah. Umm…funny toons.
Airport security is a very reactive system. Someone plans to blow up a plane with their shoes, so now we all have to take our shoes off at the checkpoint. Someone else plans to blow up the plane with liquids, so now we can’t have any moderate sized liquids going through security.
I do feel a little safer though. I can’t even imagine going back to the days where you could go all the way to the gates without a ticket. That just seems totally crazy now.
Interesting note, lighters are allowed on planes now because the cost for the U.S. government to constantly be shipping lighters out of U.S. airports was something like $30 million.
So…I guess a plane full of people is worth less than $30 million. Good to know.
Whoa, didn't know that one.
hahaha makes you feel safe… hope they dont externally combust causing a massive explosion, busting everyone on the plane into flames…. yeah i was doing chemistry home work when this was typed…. i sware im not strange and into pain and other Gothic things…
hahahahah my spell check will not let me write Gothic without a capital G
As a person who assigns chemistry homework, I'm a little concerned about you, Che.
also here is a side not in Australia you (omg one handed typing fucking hard) security has supposedly been in creased in the Aust. but we still get through costumes with illegal stuff i.e bananas and bb guns oh and my fav. a dead monkey's head!
hahaha i just read my comment fuck it was retarded… dismiss it with a laugh people
Like gates on communities, I feel like the shoe precautions and liquid prohibitions create a false sense of security. I don’t feel any more or less safe in airports/on planes than I did before 2002.
I’m looking for recommendations from lefthandedtoons fans. What other web comics do you like? It took me a while to find this one, so I’m sure I’m missing out on others. Props to Justin and Drew, I love the concept for this site, the community you’ve created with this blog, and the very funny content from both of you.

And speaking of the detroit metro airport being some sort of hub, I had a flight from Grand Rapids (where I live) to Cincinnati a few years ago. We had a layover in detroit. I mean, come on, seriously…
