Halloween Dog Parade 2008
Hey guys,
Drew here. Yesterday I went to the Halloween Dog Parade in New York. Here are some highlights:
Many more after the jump:
And of course, no Halloween Dog Parade would be complete without a ridiculous number of beedogs:
There were so many other good ones I didn’t include here. Even some very politically revelant dogs.
I’ll let you visit the Parade’s website to learn what the winning costume was.

[…] more photos on Drew’s blog here! And here’s the WINNER of the costume […]
It seems as though the only people who ever enter these contests are the people with lapdogs or pitbulls. I think it would be really funny to see a giant Cow Dog or a German Shepard walking down the street.
props to the dog who dress as Obama or is that Obama with a dog photo-shopped to his face?
There was a really big great dane there, and its costume was "horse". It was a pretty great costume but I didn't get a good photo of it.
There was a dog costume contest in Boston and we had a (kind-of) giant Cow Dog!!
I love the pirate doggie with the shark biting its butt, and the small doggie with the disproportionately ginormous shark fin.
was this the "Kind-of" cow dog you were refering to?

When I said cow dog I didn't mean a collie or some other cow hearding dog. I can't think of the name of the breed, but heres a picture of one.

No, I meant that the dog was big-ish. Here's a pic:

That dog is not big in any way ecept when compared to a tea-cup yorky.
O btw the real name for cow dogs are Bermese Mountain Dogs
Tiny Plaid Ninjas!!!
well aint you just wierd
In Chicago there was a great dance who was just wearing a collar and a tie.
I really liked the message: Big dogs don't mess around.
My brain is insane now.
Is it just me or are Americans obsessed with putting clothes on things that should not be, or do not naturally occur being (and therefore should not be made so ~) clothed?
Humans aren't naturally clothed. Should we avoid putting clothes on ourselves?
YES.
I would like to nest below…
sorry, I know it's a cheap comment, but I couldn't help it.
I also included "putting clothes on things that should not be". People should be clothed, due to inherent sense of humility (some more than others), shame and modesty. It in fact seems less modest to wear clothes but make them revealing, than it is just to be naked. How weird is that…
I just love how all those dogs look absolutely thrilled to be there in costume. The spirit of Halloween is within them all.
i will never unsee this.
I love how you included a picture of a small child in a carebear costume in there, hah!
I don't believe I missed that the first, the second and the third time I looked through the montages! xD
That corgi and his costume are the best.
I seriously heart shark butt, Batman (those ears!), grumpy taco, tiny bat, and Oscar. Sushi was good too.
The dog being a Polish Jew? That seems like one of the last episodes of Family Guy. When in Poland you can only see Jews. OK, I admit there's a lot of us
But – He could have been…hmmmm…. Portuguese, Puerto Rican, Pennsylvanian or something.
And honestly I thought his name was like that because he smelled… LOL
OK, that is it for my thoughts and contributions. Now cookie and milk and off to bed.
i'll have to share my dog's costumes. i'm an angel, my fiance is a devil and we got corresponding costumes for out two dogs, haha.
Does this mean… mean…. THIS IS THE END?!
*bursts into tears*
Possibly. Possibly yes. Then again possibly no. I have no place to judge as I do not run the site, but I feel the compulsion to reply but at the same time have no authoritative say whatsoever with no particular persuasion.
You inspire me to have faith in mankind.
My favourites were Batman and the rear-end-bitten-off-by-a-shark dog.
[…] went to the amazingness that is the Halloween dog parade last year, and god I am excited to see what this year brings. More info […]
