A Poem at a Bus Stop
March 31, 2009
I was in a bad mood before the bus came,
But I didn't know it was 'bout to get worse.
This guy next to me - who seemed totally tame -
Suddenly turned, pointed at me, and shouted out "MURSE!"
Well, deep inside me ignited a flame.
I boiled and rumbled; so mad I could curse!
"Listen buddy, you don't have to call names,
Just because I'm a man who is also a nurse!"
The guy looked surprised when he heard me exclaim.
He blinked, then he laughed "There's no need to be terse!
While I think your profession's a laughable shame,
I was talking 'bout that guy with the big ol' man-purse."
